Pete’s Story
In August 2018, at just 51 years old, Pete Caldes received the devastating diagnosis of Anaplastic Astrocytoma III, a rare form of brain cancer.
Pete, married and a father to 3 young children, spent the next year at countless doctor appointments, hours of infusion treatments, daily visits from home health care nurses and therapists, and weeks in the hospital. Despite the hard fought battle, Pete passed away on August 17,2019 – just one year after his diagnosis.
Pete was passionate about his interests which included a love for sports, music and movies. He was a generous soul, never hesitating to give to someone in need or donate to any charity.

It’s hard to summarize who Pete was because he was so many things. He was, first and foremost, a tremendous father. His family was the most important thing to him and being a father was his greatest pride. He was a loyal friend – usually being the one to reach out and gather people together, something he did often and loved doing.
Pete was passionate about his interests which included a love for sports, music and movies. He was a generous soul, never hesitating to give to someone in need or donate to any charity. Which is why his wife, Jen, was surprised when, upon learning of his cancer diagnosis, Pete’s first comment was: “I didn’t do enough to help others”. He never felt like what he had done was ever enough. He always wanted to do more.

It is with that in mind that we founded Pete’s Good Vibes Foundation. With this charitable organization, Pete’s wish to “help others” will live on in his name, continuing his life’s mission to keep the “Good Vibes” flowing forever. #goodvibesforlife
